This is why we have to pay the big overhead for the overhead. There is so much to do, and so much to consume. We have to manage and sustain our business and our employees to the best of our abilities, and we do this by not overapplying.
The good news is that we can now stop adding one new thing after another. We have to start focusing on the things that really matter.
Overapplied manufacturing is an approach to business that is at best ineffective, at worst dangerous. It involves using money we already have to pay for more than what we really need. The problem is this approach often focuses on the wrong things, like paying your employees as much overtime as they need. It also often focuses on the wrong things, like not paying your suppliers overtime.
In fact, the problem is too little money. Overapplied manufacturing is about as ineffective as a piece of shrapnel going through your body. It’s not even useful. The best you can hope for is that you spend less than you earn. I’ve heard a few people say that they might be able to get by by spending a third less, but that would be disastrous. Most people are already working too hard to do any more than they usually do.
Some companies are so big they have to make more money by printing and selling items. Even then, people with little or no money are out of luck. They’re almost always in the same financial position that they’d have been if they were in a position where they could only spend a dollar on the things they have.
In a sense, everyone is in the same boat, but it’s not just everyone. The most successful people in any industry have no problem in spending an obscene amount of money. In fact, they often spend a lot more than theyre worth. It’s just that, as a society, we have to spend so much to make it work.
This is what happens when overapplied manufacturing overhead means that the bottom line is not only not profitable but also not worth the money. Like the video game industry, the manufacturing of any product is almost always in the bottom of the barrel. With little or no money, these companies can make whatever they want, but when the product itself is less expensive than it would be if they spent the money, it doesn’t make sense.
A bad example, of course. If a piece of junk in a store has been stolen, it’s the wrong thing to do. There’s a common thread among thieves that goes, “Why isn’t the junk getting stolen?” Even a thief with a stolen piece of junk might be able to get the thief to steal some of the junk by turning it into something else. This means that a piece of junk is not worth stealing.
This is in a way the same for everything from the building itself, to the interior of a house, to the exterior of a car, to the exterior of a bicycle, to the exterior of a plane, to the interior of a building. When we walk into these places we are no longer looking at the buildings, but us. We are looking at the interior of the building, and we are not just looking at the interior of the building; we are looking at the exterior of the building.
When we look at the interior of these buildings, we are looking at the people who live in them. We are looking at the people who work in them. When we look at the exterior of these buildings we are looking at the cars, trains, planes, and buildings that surround them. We are looking at the people who own these things. We are looking at the people who are behind the building. We are looking at the people who built these things.
