Ratchet theory is one of those things that a lot of people go into a lot of trouble to explain. I found it very helpful in terms of my own thought process.
I’m not going to lie, there is no way I would have understood it without being taught it in college. Ratchet theory is a good example of why it is so important to become a self-aware and self-aware person. When you think about it, it makes sense. Rats are a lot like people: we are all very smart, and we all have some self-awareness. To be a rat is to be aware of your own intelligence and the intelligence of others.
It makes sense. It makes sense that a rat would be smart. It makes sense that a rat would be aware of his intelligence. It makes sense that it makes sense that a rat would have some self-awareness. It makes sense that a rat would remember the first time he had a really bad dream. And for some reason I just don’t understand, I can be rational in my head while I’m awake and I can still dream.
I’m not sure if this is actually the case, but I can definitely tell that a lot of ratchet theories are bullshit. In fact, I’m pretty sure that every ratchet theory I’ve ever heard is a bullshit tale.
My friend and I have been through a lot of ratchet theories. We’re basically the same, except that every theory has the same premise – ratchet theory. We’ve been on a pretty decent amount of theory lately. So I don’t understand why some theories are bullshit.
The most common explanation for why rats get into so many conspiracy theories is that people who want to believe in conspiracy theories are a bunch of irrational people who don’t think through the logic. But that’s not true. This is the same as the rational person who doesn’t drink because she’s afraid that she’ll have a heart attack. The rational person is the same as the irrational person who thinks a cat will go through the windshield and kill them.
According to the ratchet theory, the reason why people are so interested in conspiracy theories is because they want to believe their own bullshit. Sure, people who want to believe that the government is hiding something, that the world is ending, or that aliens are out to get them are a bunch of irrational people who dont think through the logic. They just want to believe their own bullshit so they can look out for themselves.
You know what you don’t need another cat? A gun.
The ratchet theory says that the people who believe that the government is hiding something are the ones who believe it is. They’ve got a lot of reasons to believe that. For example, they can’t believe that they are doing anything wrong, the government, or the government is trying to kill you.
I don’t think you can get away with denying the logic that the government is doing something wrong. To do so would prove that the government is hiding something. But to assume that they are hiding something is to assume the wrong thing. The logic is wrong, but not the assumption that they are hiding something.
