This type of device is used for a couple of reasons. The first is to count the amount of money in the bank and the second is to allow people to write their own checks.
Check numbers are used on checks to count the amount of money in the account. The same principle applies for deposit slips, so banks that don’t have a system of depositing cash have to have an alternative method for recording the amount of money in an account.
As this is a new type of device that has been around for a while, I think it is a good idea to read this section of the book before you build up your self-awareness level.
The banks are all over the place. In the United States, you will find them in the big cities, small towns, and rural areas. In countries such as China, India, etc, the banks are much smaller and more centralized. In countries such as Spain, the banks are in the center and you will find them in the middle of the city.
This section of the book is a short one. It doesn’t really give you much to think about. If you want to build up your self-awareness, you’d want to get a little more experience with this. The main thing I suggest is that you read this chapter in the title first and then start with a section about bank security, then your self-awareness level. If you haven’t read it, then let me know.
The only thing this book is really offering is a quick review of what to do when you see a check or a deposit slip that doesn’t seem to match the bank’s official record. This is a part of the game that you should take advantage of, but you don’t need to do it in order to read the numbers. It’s just good to know, since it’s very likely that you will be asked to do it.
As far as I know, banks have a strict policy against reading numbers on checks and deposits. I know that banks in some other countries do it, but I think this is the last time I’d ever hear of it being permitted. I’ve also read that some people use “scanning devices” (a very vague term) to read bank checks that dont meet their very high standards.
I have no idea, but what I do know is that I dont think I would use this device at the banks where I work. I am however, in a position where I have access to a very high salary, so that really could be a factor. In case you want to use this reading device, check with your bank to see if its allowed or not.
For those of you who don’t know what I mean by “scanning device”, it’s like a portable scanner. They scan checks and take their information and then print out and print out a copy of the information. It has some rather high standards, but they do allow it.
To be honest, I dont know for a fact whether this device is allowed in banks, but I am hoping it is because I would like to see a lot of my cash disappear.
